The LabBench device is a response and stimulus device for electrophysiology and psychophysical experiments. With this device, you can collect responses for threshold estimation with a response button (LabBench® BTN) or psychophysical rating scales (LabBench® SCALE).
The device can control stimulators with analog voltage input and digital triggers. This analog input and the digital trigger can be generated by LabBench® I/O and used to control electrical stimulators such as the Digitimer DS5 stimulator or the Digitimer DS8R stimulator. However, any stimulator controlled by an analog voltage/digital trigger can be controlled by the LabBench® I/O devices.
The devices can generate 16-bit digital triggers to external equipment such as EEG amplifiers or data acquisition cards such as National Instrument DAQmx.
Stimulus and trigger generation can be triggered either from external software by the USB Connection, external equipment through the digital input trigger, or from the display of visual or auditory stimuli with a LabBench VTRIG or LabBench ATRIG device connected to the response interface.

A rating scale that can be used with experimenter-defined rating scales, such as Visual Analog Scales, Numerical Rating Scales, or Wong-Baker FACES® Scales.
Wong-Baker FACES® is a registered trademark of the Wong-Baker FACES Foundation.
A device that can collect psychophysical responses with microsecond resolution and allow subjects to complete questionnaires.
Subjects can use a handheld response button to indicate a response to a given stimulus. These responses may be used to estimate a psychophysical threshold, such as the perception threshold, the pain detection threshold, or the pain tolerance threshold.
A trigger device that can be attached to any graphical display to generate precise microsecond triggers in response to the display of a visual stimulus.
A trigger device that can generate precise microsecond triggers from audio signals.
By nature, research is novel, and no two research groups are the same. Our approach for the LabBench® and our research devices is that they serve as a starting point for your research studies that can be tailored to your needs. If you think LabBench® may or can be made into providing what is needed for your research studies, please contact us for an informal meeting or send an enquiry. Then we will explore whether there is a fit between what you need for your experiments and what we can provide.
Our goal is to create open and novel research devices for neuroscience.
